Tobin Miller Shearer studies the intersection of race and religion in U.S. twentieth-century history. His dissertation focuses on issues of racial identity formation, social movement theory, and sect-cycle theory as evident in the interactions of white Mennonites and African-Americans between 1941 and 1969. He is the author of Enter the River: Healing Steps from White Privilege Toward Racial Reconciliation (Herald Press, 1994) and co-author of Set Free: A Journey Toward Solidarity Against Racism (Herald Press, 2001). |
