Chicago Fire website and mobile app

Faculty member Carl Smith (joint with English and American Studies) is the author and curator of the Internet historical exhibition, "The Great Chicago Fire and the Web of Memory," a completely revised and much expanded version of the project that first went online in 1996. This project, the result of a collaboration between the Chicago History Museum and Academic and Research Technologies at Northwestern, can be viewed at greatchicagofire.org. It is also available as a mobile app for the iPhone store (under the name "Chicago Fire"). Among the many additions, one particularly suited to a mobile app, is the ability to tour over fifty sites in the city of Chicago that are related to the fire.
