Gabrielle Guillerm

Gabrielle Guillerm is a doctoral student in American history with a focus on religious history. Her main interest lies in trans-Atlantic and transnational study of Catholicism. Her current research studies the impact of French missionaries in the development of the Catholic Church in colonial North America and in the Early Republic.

Gabrielle earned her BA and MA in history from the Université Paris-Sorbonne, Paris, France. At the Sorbonne she completed a thesis entitled La contribution française aux débuts de l’Eglise catholique des Etats-Unis, 1790-1850 [French contributions to the foundation of the Catholic Church in the United States, 1790-1850]. From 2010 to 2012 she taught history to middle school students in the Paris Metropolitan Area. Originally from Paris, France, Gabrielle moved to the United States in 2013.
