Mariah Hepworth

Mariah Hepworth is a PhD student studying under Professor Michael Sherry. Mariah is specializing in World War I-era America, focusing on American film and culture in the period roughly between 1915 and 1935. Her dissertation project will center on developing a new understanding of the history and legacy of D.W. Griffith’s controversial film, The Birth of a Nation (1915) as it emerged in the context of the First World War.
