Guy Laron (Ph.D. Hebrew University, 2008) recently completed his dissertation on Israeli-Egyptian relations in the 1950s and is currently revising it into a book. He is also engaged in research on the Soviet involvement in the Six-Day War. His publications include: Cold War International History Project Working Paper No. 55, Cutting the Gordian Knot: The Post-WWII Egyptian Quest for Arms and the 1955 Czechoslovak Arms Deal; International History Project e-dossier no. 16, "'Assessing the Damage': the June 1967 Czech Delegation to Egypt"; "Logic dictates that they may a ttack when they feel they can win”: the Egyptian Army, the 1955 Czech-Egyptian Arms Deal and the Israeli Intelligence, 1955-1956, Middle East Journal, (Winter, 2009) and two forthcoming articles on the Soviet involvement in the Middle East in the mid-1960s.
