Research Opportunities:

1. Weinberg College Funds

A. Hewlett Fund for Curricular Innovation

 

Grants or matching funds for projects that enhance undergraduate curricular innovation and development.

B. Simeon Leland Forum Fund
Supports lectures, panel discussions, and other presentations on topics of current interest. Undergraduate students must be able to participate, at the very least by asking questions during the discussion following a presentation, and preferably in more central ways.

C. Katherine L. Krieghbaum Scholarships
Research grants for senior-year research projects. Kriegbaum Awards are available to WCAS students only. Non-WCAS students pursuing research in WCAS should first apply to the University Undergraduate Research Grants Committee. If they are not eligible for funding by URGC, they should contact WCAS directly.

D. Course Enhancement funds
Funds for special events or activities associated with a course.

E. Freshman Seminar Enhancement funds
Funds for special events or activities associated with a freshman seminar.

F. Associate Dean for Undergraduate Academic Affairs
The Associate Dean has limited discretionary funds available for special requests associated with courses and other faculty-student activities.

G. Research funds available from Office of Undergraduate Studies and Advising
i. Grants to assist undergraduates in pursuing original research or creative work under the close supervision of a faculty member during the academic year.

ii. Summer research grants of $3,000 to sophomores and juniors to cover the cost of research and living expenses.

Searle Fellows Program
Program to help new faculty members to develop an expertise about teaching and learning issues and practices that will advance the scholarship of teaching.

C. Center for Interdisciplinary Research in the Arts
The Center for Interdisciplinary Research in the Arts (CIRA) promotes and funds interdisciplinary, innovative work in the arts at Northwestern.
D. Center for Reproductive Science
Marcia L. Storch MD Scholarship Fund for Undergraduate Women
E. The Alumnae Association of Northwestern
i. Gifts and Grants

    Funds available on a competitive basis for a variety of projects related to teaching and research
