Charlotte Cover Moy


Charlotte Moy studies early modern Italy and specializes in the history of education and educational institutions. Her current project focuses on the instruction of young women in convents in sixteenth and seventeenth-century Venice. She hopes to establish whether the absence of male involvement in daily life allowed convents to provide their students, educande, with unusual opportunities for creative activity and intellectual development. Originally from Northport, Alabama, Charlotte holds a B.A. (summa cum laude) in History from the University of Alabama.
